OMG! The wait is finally over! Yeah. It felt like forever waiting for those twin peaks to arrive on our shores. Uh huh. Oh dear. The pain of eternally waiting for those pair of sugoi dekai. That’s right. Now all that waiting has paid off as we can now catch our favourite big tits big heart girl in Uzaki-chan Wa Asobitai S2. Oh you know, the girl who voluntarily hangs out with her lonely and gloomy senpai. It’s like she’s worried to death that he won’t get some sort of life. That’s why she’s doing so to spice up his life (and annoy the hell out of him). Yeah, that’s a weird way of saying she’s in love with him but whatever. We’re just hanging out for the sugoi dekai. Yeah. It’s been a long time. WELCOME BACK!
Episode 1
We see Uzaki and Sakurai hanging out together. Looking good like a couple, eh? They troll us and leave us hanging because it’s like they’re making out?! Is it real?! Is it a dream?! Back to reality, Uzaki laments the summer vacation is over because now the new university term begins. She talks to Sakaki about her senpai but nothing romantic has happened that he has hoped for. Speaking of the devil, here he comes. This excites Uzaki as she throws some weak punches at him. Already annoying at the get go, huh? Sakaki then suggests going bowling together. You bet Sakurai will come since Uzaki is mocking how bad his bowling skills are. Despite all of her taunts, Sakurai remains calm. He knows this is the difference in winning the game as becoming mad is just what Uzaki wants and playing right into her hand. Sakurai then shows he is not one to mess with as he scores a strike on his first round. Be wary, Uzaki. Because it seems Sakurai’s power is to get even more skilful the more he gets agitated! But Uzaki plays dirty. Each time it is his turn, she distracts him. Going so far as to sabotage him. In the end, Sakurai barely wins. Yeah, Uzaki could’ve won had she concentrated on her game rather than sabotaging. Later when Master takes a day off, Ami cherishes for this day as she is going to put lewd outfits on Uzaki and Sakurai on pretence on trying new uniforms for the café. Papa won’t allow it but since he won’t be here today…
So when the duo arrive, Ami quickly ushers them to wear. After a few cosplay outfits, Uzaki soon realizes the meaning of this. It won’t take long before Ami herself admits to this degenerate perversion of hers. She claims it isn’t fair for Uzaki getting to see men’s nipples but if you remember, Uzaki was in the swimming club. Now Ami is throwing tantrum. You can tell how desperate she is when Tsuki enters, Ami quickly wants her to put on some outfits and do lewd stuffs to her. But that is the end of it as Master is back and heard everything. In the end, Ami herself is made to wear a lewd Playboy outfit and serve customers. Because Uzaki has been bugging Sakurai over the phone to play games with her till the wee hours of the morning, it is no surprise he is feeling sleepy during the day. So as Sakaki lets him sleep before class begins, Uzaki and her female friends enter. One of them just got a boyfriend so they talk about this as they also point out Uzaki has one. They’re always hanging out together, right? Uzaki outright denies this and claims she is just hanging out with that gloomy guy who wants attention. Wanna bet Sakurai heard all that? Later as Sakurai waits for the next class, he dozes off on the chair. Uzaki comes by and sees him sleeping like this. Realizing she has been making him stay up late, she allows it. She lies next to him and takes a selfie of them together. Then she too dozes off. Well, it is no surprise when Sakaki and those girl friends come by, they see them sleeping and hugging each other! Yeah, their words might deny it all but their actions tell the truth. Now, who should we wake up first to start the fun?
Episode 2
You bet photos were taken and once Ami knows about this, she is crying foul that she wasn’t there to see the whole thing. Of course Uzaki and Sakurai clamouring for the photos to be deleted. Ami throws a tantrum she is being left out of the loop so they appease her by going shopping together. While shopping for a swimsuit, Ami noticing Uzaki happily choosing another one because Sakurai complimented her the other day. While Ami is happy that Sakurai remembered her words, she laments she wasn’t there to see her blushing face. Later the gang go play football but see a group of college students bullying a group of middle school kids at their game. But the latter diss them for being losers and accuse them of having no life. Shouldn’t they be having girlfriends or attending mixers? Unless some handsome hunk snatched them away. Wow. Getting depressed, huh? The guys then recognize Sakaki since he was with them during last week’s mixer. Sakaki then gives some tips on how to treat ladies, sending those idiotic trio of Sasamoto, Kawakami and Hamada into further despair. Can’t let a handsome guy lecture them, right? So they challenge him to a game. If they win, they’ll pay their bill. Otherwise, they want Sasaki to introduce those hot babes to them! Sakaki agrees. Don’t scream your head off so fast because as we see, Sakaki is so good and he is being a one man show in scoring all the goals! Yeah, double digits now… And it’s not only 20 minutes. Sakurai who sucks at the game (Uzaki loves teasing how much he sucks), didn’t do much. But after Sakaki tells him how to just play it simply, Sakurai puts his focus into the game. Now he looks so different. Yeah. Each kick, the ball breaks the bones of those guys! OMFG! FATALITY! In the end, he scores a goal but soon realizes he knocked those guys out cold. I hope they’re not dead. Sakaki’s reply to it all? Run away! Ami couldn’t be happier to see all those abs from Sakurai.
As Sakurai and Uzaki are going to college, Uzaki spots a couple rushing for something together. This has her imagine the same with her senpai and then getting into some fanservice hijinks. Which is pretty not very much different from reality at all if you ask me. Because the usual petty argument like always. Sakurai is at Uzaki’s place to cook udon. While he makes quite a decent one, Uzaki of course is being sarcastic and mocking him that he can do better. She still eating the udon despite calling it mediocre? Hence Sakurai wants to learn to make better udon so Tsuki teaches him how to cut them. However from the last time, Tsuki still has this misconception of him that she might fall for him so she starts getting too conscious of that. Luckily he is too deep in concentration to notice. This has Tsuki realize the opportunity to ask her daughter how far her relationship with Sakurai has gone. So when she asks if anything has happened lately, somehow Uzaki thinks of that incident where they slept together hugging. She misinterpreted that mom already knew about this since word of it has spread. So as she ambiguously tries to explain this situation of hers, Tsuki of course gets the wrong idea that they’re into some sort of sexual relationship. What a big mess. What a big misunderstanding. I think that is all that mom can take for today. She’s going to lied down now. Yeah. And Sakurai just finished cutting the perfect udon. Later when Uzaki’s brother, Kiri comes home and learns the udon were made by her senpai, another misunderstanding forms because he thought her senpai is some hot chick so he gladly chows them all down. So delicious growing boy has big appetite, huh?
Episode 3
The festival is coming up and of course Sakurai doesn’t want to go and instead play his video games. If that’s the case, no use for Uzaki to come too, right? Then a tired Sakaki drops in. Looks like he is on the organizing committee this year. Because of his big mouth to suggest how to attract the crowd, he is made in charge of organizing and overseeing the stamping event. You go to various booths and for every 500 yen you spend, you get a stamp. Once you have enough, you earn the right for the lottery in which there are some great prizes. One of them is a game console. Since Uzaki looks interested, Sakurai changes his mind. He’ll attend the festival with her. Before Sakaki leaves, he tells them the place to start and get huge numbers of stamps is the occult club since it is expensive and their predictions are accurate. So as the duo have their fun at the festival, finally they queue at the occult club. They can’t understand why many are giggling at them. Once it is their turn, the fortune teller turns out to be one of Uzaki’s friends, Ito. When try to have her predict some stuffs, this is when she tells them they only predict love and romance. Now they get it why others were looking at them and the queue is only female. They want to leave but other occult members stop them. Holy sh*t! Is this KKK or something?! Just take the f*cking reading! No choice, they do so and Ito is ecstatic that they are a perfect couple! She wonders why they aren’t dating and all but one of the members stop her ranting before she gets too extreme.
After the duo left, it is revealed that one of the members is Ami. Well, she isn’t a member but just tagged along. Now she goes to spy on them. You see, this whole thing was an elaborate plan by Sakaki. Too bad that guy is too tired to watch this drama. Ami relished this chance but too bad she lost them. Sakurai now feels odd looking at Uzaki. How can he face her? However she coolly brushes this fortune telling thing as a game for girls. So they’re back to normal? In the end, the console prize went to somebody else… What a waste… Later, Sakurai still can’t get his mind off that fortune telling. Even more so, Uzaki putting up that face. As Uzaki cooks for him, now we hear her thoughts on this whole fortune telling thingy. She misinterpreted the whole thing and thinks senpai can’t live without her! That’s why she will continue to accompany this lonely gloomy dude. That is why they are compatible! When Sakurai wants to pay for his share for the ingredients, she thinks he is insulting her and being dense so she throws a tantrum. He apologizes for whatever and drops the subject. Uzaki mentally thinks she has won when she actually chickened out. Then their hands accidentally touch when they get the sauce… Maybe the fortune is picking up now?
Episode 4
Wow. Uzaki so chirpy today. She is bragging to the rest about her love for Sakurai! This comes as no surprise to the rest, in fact, they look annoyed. However the problem is that they know their romance will not reach the finish line and it will be back to normal before they know it. Even more so when Uzaki is a lot dense when it comes to this, it’s like she is even more passive than before. Hence, they need to come up with a strategy for them closer than ever. First up is to tweak their schedule so that Sakurai and Uzaki are not together in the same shift. Uzaki continues to brag about her love when Sakaki points out that Sakurai is actually popular with other girls in his class. Shocking?! Lies?! Even Master vouches a few ladies, young and old call Sakurai a nice man. Sakaki trying to point out she let her guard down since she is so used around him and he is like a hunk with conditions. Others don’t get close to him because they think Uzaki who is always around him is his girlfriend. Sakaki ‘sacrifices’ Ami and claims she too has her eyes on Sakurai. Of course we know she loves muscles and to prove it, look at that lecherous face when Sakaki shows his own abs! Panicky Ami tries to explain the misunderstanding. It couldn’t get any worse as she says she is only after Sakurai’s body!!! OMFG… Now Uzaki is off her high horse and has a lot to think about. On another day, Sakurai is learning how to cook croquettes with Uzaki and Tsuki. During the break, Uzaki tries to ask mom about her opinion on Sakurai since she heard he is popular with girls. She gets distracted to feed the cats as she fantasizes everyone trying to get Sakurai! As Sakurai ponders who to address Tsuki and doesn’t want to confuse her with Uzaki, he asks her first name. Oh boy. Tsuki remembers some twisted love drama she was watching and gives her first name because not doing so means only means that person is prominent on one’s mind. WTF… Soon, Tsuki replies to her daughter is that boys must be sincere. It’s the first thing she must be ascertain of. She thinks her daughter is unsure about him but won’t ask further. So as Uzaki ponders about it, suddenly she hears Sakurai calling her mom by her first name! Holy sh*t. Yandere Uzaki?!
Episode 5
Uzaki giving Sakurai mean looks and avoiding him! This is bad. And he hasn’t a clue what caused this. Talking to Ami and Master didn’t yield much. Even Tsuki is here as she is worried about her daughter’s sudden change in behaviour. So as they relate what happened, now Ami and Master realize the source of it. Yes, it is that first name calling. Obviously Uzaki is going to feel side-lined since he called his mom by her first name first than her. While Ami and Master snigger at this messy situation, I guess they also need to help. Hence they impose a term for them to call each other by their first names in this café. So everyone is supporting Shinichi to make up with Hana. Shinichi apologizes but Hana knows this is a ploy to just get by without calling her name. Fail. When he does so, she likes its ring and has him call her a few more times. Then she starts teasing Mr Shinichi, causing him to blush all over. I take it, they’re back. Later Sakurai patrons a gym. His spotter is Fujio and it seems each time he thinks he can’t go on, Fujio eggs him on to do a last spurt. Just how many last spurts there are, huh? In the end, it is probably why the gym lost many young members but for Sakurai, he couldn’t be thankful enough it gave him a good work out. Fujio hopes Sakurai would invite his friends here too but Sakurai can already foresee that Uzaki won’t be paying money just to exhaust oneself!
Fujio goes home and we soon learn that he is Uzaki’s father and Tsuki’s wife! When Uzaki notes Sakurai wants to come again for another cooking lesson, Fujio thought he is a girl. Until he learns he is not. EMERGENCY FAMILY MEETING!!! Yeah, he’s making a big deal that his daughter now has a boyfriend. NOBODY CARES! Uzaki is already an adult, she can do whatever she wants. With the rest trying to ask more details and after a bit of a quarrel with Kiri, Uzaki then explains all of Sakurai’s traits. She said too much when as she hints she has gone to his place. Oh dear. She tries to explain this is just to hang out with him and that they share a passion in video games. Nothing more is going on between them. Because of that, they think Uzaki likes him. She denies and the more she tries to explain, the more she corners herself. Because now she claims it is senpai how likes her. Kiri then realizes his sister’s senpai is this same guy and now he is in despair eating food that is not made by a cute college chick. Meanwhile mom tries to put together the pieces. If her Sakurai is not Uzaki’s boyfriend and they’re not dating, could it be… Is Sakurai’s target mom?! Yeah, the emergency meeting ended in confusion… Meanwhile Sakurai has completed his own set of training and feels good about it. Then he does it again just to take his mind off Uzaki. Yeah, now he’s a training maniac. And Uzaki can’t get her mind off Sakurai. This confusion is getting interesting…

When Sakurai is here for another cooking lesson, it seems Tsuki has other plans. She claims she has other errands but this is to let Uzaki and Sakurai be together. Wishing something will happen between them so that he will not target her? When he is done, Sakurai bumps into her so she asks if anything happened. Well, the way he describes how he was given permission to have his way with her, this sends shockwaves to Tsuki. Oh my, did they really advance so far? Even if he throws back the words she used against herself, she comes up with more excuses and at this point, Sakaki is damn tired to hear it all. I mean, she claims it is Sakurai who likes her, etc. Making it more frustrating, she wants to confess within a year when everything could be solved right now if she tells him right away. As on how to get Sakurai to confess to her, think for yourself! Uzaki then thinks the best way to get him to confess is to make him bento. It is hard to make one when all her family members are watching her! Yeah, the guys just want her to make some for them… In college, she manages to give it to Sakurai. They happily eat them like nothing happens. Spying Sakaki must be both relieved and frustrated at how this is going at this level but as long as they’re happy, time to make his exit. Uzaki tries to keep Sakurai apart from Yanagi but with not many customers today, that isn’t possible. Because Yanagi wants to talk to him! They talk about video games since Yanagi is also into it. So after some placating, Uzaki looks like she is back in good mood but the bugger ruins it by saying he might not get used to calling her first name. Back to square one. Temper back up again. It is obvious Uzaki is upset since they’ve known each other for so long and yet this surname treatment. Other family members got first name treatment in record time. Does he not think they are close enough or is it just her? Sakurai then says it is because she is special. He wants to take that back but too late. Uzaki loves it and gets her confidence back. Ami and Master having a field day watching this drama as Yanagi tries to put the pieces together. She realizes her sister does like him but since he will be tough to win over, perhaps she will need a bit of help. When she returns home and tells mom about her visit to the café, the way Yanagi describes Sakurai as a good person and wishes to hang out more with him, this of course has mom thinking that Sakurai is gunning for her. Oh dear. What will happen to all the women in this family?! So she forbids her to go the café alone and must be accompanied by her! Dad wants in on this but Yanagi doesn’t tell him since it’s not his business. Sad dad… Because Kiri is stressed from studying for his final exams, he needs a favour from dad to blow off some steam. But there is always that veteran senior citizen who always does better! That sure zaps his confidence. Soon, Sakurai also visits and wants to use the pool. He is told to use the advanced section since nobody uses it. At the same time, Kiri also has the same idea. So as both swim, Kiri soon finds it hard to catch up to Sakurai. Yeah, he doesn’t know he is a swimming club member! Always being left in his wake. In the end, Kiri feels demoralized but gives an excuse he is in a slump. Yeah, that should do it. When all seems well, Kiri then sees Sakurai in the nude (after coming out from the bath). I think he saw his junk. OMFFFFFFFG!!!! That killed it. Back home, Kiri is more depressed than ever. Yeah, perhaps even in trauma mode. Never going back to that gym again.

Seems Sakaki have some extra tickets and invited him here. Is it the sad truth that he can only hang out with him whenever Uzaki is not around?! This has Uzaki pondering about hanging out with him if he is lonely. However Sakurai thinks since she is here with her family, she should put that as priority first. They can hang out some other time. When Uzaki’s family return and the sisters relate about how they almost got hit by guys, this has Kiri riled up with jealousy. Yeah, regretting he didn’t go this time so he really wants to go the next time so as to hit on chicks. Because if those little runts can get hit on, maybe he’ll get lucky and score with some college chicks! His sisters whack him for that insulting comment. Maybe that’s why he doesn’t have a girlfriend…

Sakurai is back. Mom doesn’t seem enthusiastic. Sakurai thought she is babysitting but this toddler, Nodoka is actually his 8 month baby sister! OMFG!!! THE AGE GAP!!! Screw that, Sakurai doesn’t even know! I guess dad didn’t really spell it out then. As Uzaki and the rest ponder why Sakurai lives on his own, we hear the reason as dad forced him to do so because he can get frisky with mom again without his young adult son around. Yeah, under the guise he is supposed to learn to be independent! So they talk about stuffs like Sakurai taking a bit after his dad and then mom leaves Nodoka with him. He’ll be alright. Yeah, baby sister just looking like him in stoned way. Uzaki continues to be drunk and complaining about Sakurai. I’m sure the duo will love to hear all her thoughts on him. Uh huh. Frustrated all this is progressing so slowly? They would love to hear her time with him back in high school too. I’m sure Uzaki has lots more to say.

Although Sakurai has gotten a bit better but his bad habits make him lose. She hangs out with him and even stays at his place. So he is just worried as her senpai? Father lectures him about being useless. Because don’t you see, if he doesn’t do things right, people will talk things about that girl. Interrogation is stopped when mom judo throws dad for dinner. It’s getting cold. Next day, we see Fujio and his colleague patron Master’s café. Seems they are buddies. Wow. What a small world. Sakurai is also there but he is so intense thinking about dad’s words. Because what he say is true. The way he is doing things, he’ll end up making trouble for Uzaki. He needs to avoid that but has no idea what to do. Time for Fujio to interject himself for some help. He asks what he wants his girl to be. He is fretting because of the status quo. This is when Master offers his biggest advice. Just solve the problem. How he does it is up to him. He must pinpoint his goals and see the best possible outcome. If the problem becomes too hard to solve, feel free to rely on his friends for advice. Everyone knows he is a good guy. This gives Sakurai a lot of motivation. Next day, he still hasn’t figured out what to do but he thought of thanking Uzaki for all she has done. When they meet, she starts yapping the usual and even throwing in a few insults. Especially about bragging how she turned out her friends’ Christmas party invitation just to hang out with him. Yeah, that changed his sentiments and now he is so annoyed. Plus, he forbids her to come to his place anymore. I guess he is serious because he really locks her out and won’t let her in!
Episode 12

Sakaki even hints of letting Sakurai to come along with the other college girls to let him get hit on for real. Uzaki promises to apologize and does so via text. But Yanagi senses something amiss and thinks her intervention is needed. Thus she heads down to the café just to solely invite Sakurai to hang out with her on Christmas since he’ll be lonely. This causes Uzaki to butt in. She has a better idea. Why not hang out at their home! But what about dad? She’ll talk to him since Uzaki doesn’t want to look like the one who is desperate to hang out with him at his place. And so the awaited day has arrived as Uzaki brings Sakurai home to meet her dad. Explosion in 3, 2, 1… Yeah, now the guys meet and realize who the other really is! Thank goodness Kiri isn’t here or the fireworks will be even more devastating! Speaking of which, he is hanging with other loser guys without a girlfriend this year. They promise to have one next year and what do you know? His friends are aiming for his sister! Oh gosh? His mom too?! That’s not funny! But you know what is not even funny? One of the guys think Kiri is cute… OH SH*T!!! Anyway, back to Uzaki’s household, Fujio is so mad that his veins might explode any time! What can Sakurai do? Don’t do anything too rash. Fujio then realizes all that he has talked to Sakurai at the gym. Basically revealing his daughter’s private life and fearing she would hate him, calls for a ceasefire. He promises to let this slide so as long to let Uzaki enjoy this night. Yeah, if they can stop making it look like they’re flirting with each other! Be cool! Calm down! But soon, Sakurai calls time out. He thinks he can’t handle this and suggests to get totally wasted since he’ll forget this. Fujio thinks is for the best so he lets him drink all the alcohol in his house. An hour later, Sakurai is already drunk and Uzaki takes this chance to tease him. Oh Fujio, be cool… Because Tsuki thanks him for being friends with Uzaki, Sakurai goes into auto reply mode as he also thanks Uzaki from the bottom of his heart for everything. Feeling good, huh? Then he starts complaining about his own parents and that advice dad gave him about to properly consider all this. To Fujio’s horror, he has to hold it all in because he definitely knows this is a confession by Sakurai! He’s in love with his daughter! Oh my!
Episode 13
Fujio returns from his errands to see his daughters stripping Sakurai?! WTF???!!! Apparently all of them were drunk and the girls were planning some nasty game. Tsuki tried to stop them but failed. Hence Fujio’s return was nice timing for this misunderstanding. Once they all sober up, they call a taxi to send Sakurai home. Fujio tags along since Uzaki needs some manly assistance in case Sakurai collapses. During the journey, Uzaki wonders if dad is still mad. Good news, he isn’t. He knew Sakurai is a good guy from the start. Back at Sakurai’s place, Uzaki apologizes for all the troubles. However he hugs her and claims he can cause all the troubles she wants. Then another trolling moment because it’s like he pushes her down on his bed and… Falls asleep! I expected that! Hope Fujio won’t get suspicious why Uzaki is taking so long… So when Uzaki returns, you bet that surprised her as she worries how to face him at work tomorrow. Oh right, now she has to face Ami’s grinning face because Yanagi sent her photos of stripped Sakurai! Damn, she’s even paying her for those nice pics! When Sakurai comes him, looks like he does not remember what happened last night! Oh dear. Frustrated Uzaki shows him those pics! F*ck! Can’t remember it either! Oh well, maybe this should be good for him too. After work, once Sakurai reaches home, he gets a panic attack. Yeah, he actually remembers that nearly rape scene and was pretending not to. On New Year’s Eve, Sakurai meets up early with Sakaki and Master at the shrine just to discuss on something important. He wants advice and hopes they would keep it a secret. Basically, he thinks Uzaki is in love with him! Well, it’s no surprise as they tell him EVERYBODY knows about it! The important thing now is what his next move is. Sakurai thinks of doing nothing like always to let it slide but Sakaki gives him an earful about that attitude. After all, he already knows what he wants and is just fishing for a result that suits him. Whatever it is, they will fully support him. Meeting up with the rest, Sakurai and Uzaki watch the sunrise alone while the rest considerately go watch somewhere else. Sakurai holds her hand as he tries to eke out his confession. Too bad he chickens out and hopes they could hang out more this year. Uzaki can agree to that.
Double Up, Double Down, Double Or Nothing
Uhm, that’s it? Wow. After all that we have gone through and this is the ending we get for the second season? Feels like a bit of nothing burger if you ask me. Ah well, I guess the important is that our main duo have realized their feelings for each other and so that is a start. You know what they say, slowly but surely. After all, they have got to live up to the name of this series. Yeah, you can only do that when you’re friends or dating, right?
And because of that, is it me or does this season feel a bit slow and well, uhm, a bit boring too? Maybe it is because this season tries to see some sort of progress between Uzaki and Sakurai but considering the characters they are, it is moving at a snail pace. Oh wait. Even snails are going much faster than them at this rate! I also feel that this season has less of Uzaki hanging out with Sakurai at least in terms of screen time watching them being together doing fun stuffs. Again, this is most probably because of the introduction of the rest of Uzaki’s family members and their quirkiness so I can see this takes a bit of chunk from our usual duo’s shenanigans. Instead of just being side characters, they make a decent amount of screen time to prove that they are going to be the main supporting characters of the series.
Because of the irritating and slow pace of the development between Uzaki and Sakurai, it felt like the whole enthusiasm died down after the beginning. A reminiscence of last season. If you remember early on in the first season, that pseudo sex scene of Sakurai looking like he is taking on Uzaki from behind near the bushes! In public! Yeah, the angle. And then nothing spicy of that sort for the rest of the season. This sequel too felt somewhat the same. It felt like some sort of bait to get viewers’ hope up as we see Sakurai and Uzaki cuddling together on the college bench. Uh huh. Anything else of this sort happening subsequently? Nil. Honestly in this context, that’s why I’m a little disappointed considering how the rest of the season went.
Furthermore, it doesn’t feel this season has, uhm, tantalizing fanservice. In the sugoi dekai context, that is. Yup, somehow those signature twin peaks didn’t seem all too prominent this season. I wonder if they sacrificed this for the snail pace Sakurai x Uzaki development. What the heck. Yeah, I was too busy trying to follow on the development and those boobs didn’t even distract me one big since they weren’t that freaking obvious. What the hell. Even more so, Uzaki has this tomboyish looks and it’s hard to jerk off to that if you’re a straight person. Call me picky but I suppose that may be the great balance why many (I assume) don’t right away beat the meat because of that androgynous looks. Heck, even Tsuki is more feminine than her! Oh sh*t, trying to turn us into MILF instead?! True, there is that family amusement pool episode later in the series but the fanservice feels paltry in terms of expectations we had from the sugoi dekai theme. Yeah.
On a trivial and unrelated note, the reason why this season is called Uzaki-chan Wa Asobitai Double is not because that it is not because double means two which means second which also could mean double the fun (yes it is most likely that but hear me out) but rather how ‘W” looks like tits! Sagging tits?! HAHAHA!!! Yeah, not enough sugoi dekai has got me hallucinating!!! Sure, that alphabet may also look like some woozy smiling emoticon but I guess looking like boobs feel more (in)appropriate! Yeah!
As for the characters, what else can I say about the duo. I’m going to be a broken tape recorder, repeating how slow their relationship is developing. But I suppose I can’t complain because if it actually gets off, then I would be complaining how rushed and unreal it would be. Considering how Uzaki and Sakurai are together in the first season. And then suddenly they become a couple this season. Where’s the fun in that? Uh huh. Got to put up with the boring slow moments then. We all know they obviously like each other but are just too dense to admit it because reasons. You got to live with that kind of drama and pacing if you’re into this romance theme. Yeah. That. So I can feel Ami and Sakaki’s frustrations in seeing how this whole thing slowly plays out and yet the payoff for all their efforts are like peanuts. Drastic measures when? As frustrating it may sound watching this status quo development, they still have fun watching, teasing and setting up the duo because they have no other life. Heh. Real life drama is their best form of entertainment.
Newly introduced this season are the rest of Uzaki’s family members. They add a whole lot of spice to the series considering each of them has their own quirkiness. You know it is going to be fire when it comes to the case of Sakurai and Fujio. That they will come when they will some come face to face with each other and it has happened. Uh huh. What a small world after all. Fujio can’t pin the blame entirely on Sakurai since it was partly his fault in making lots of assumptions. Better start getting used when Sakurai calls him your otou-sama. Then there is Yanagi who seems a lot curious about her sister’s relationship with Sakurai. She feels like the backup in case Sakaki or Ami’s plan don’t come into fruition so it’s her turn to take some sort of action. Kiri? I see his running joke as a boy whose dream is to get a girlfriend. Considering he somehow can’t, Yanagi doesn’t hesitate to tease him about this. WTF now he has inferior complex with guys whose monster dick is bigger than his?! That really deteriorated his morale. Now he has got to fend off his classmates who are really interested in his family’s ladies. No, wait. One who is especially interested in him! Wow. This guy is really screwed. Finally Tsuki, still having misconceptions that Sakurai is gunning for her? Yeah, the Uzaki family is either so fun to hang out or a big pain. You decide.
Also introduced this season are Sakurai’s parents and ultimately the reason this gloomy guy is made to live alone. I won’t say Sakurai’s dad is an irresponsible person but as far I can see, unlike most dads who are strict, he is more casual. There is no rule to say people at such at can’t have babies so I suppose Sakurai’s parents needed this to keep the flame of their romance alive. And we can guess from the labour of love they produced out of it. Imagine and assuming Sakurai and Uzaki get married and they have a child soon after. Imagine then Nodoka is nearly the same age as their child. Weird, no?
Last but not least, that mascot cat of the series. Forgot its name. You know that cat I’m talking about. Yeah, the one that has that eternal incredulous look on its face. Like it is born with that kind of face. It pops up mostly at scenes that are supposed to be jaw dropping and shocking. Still doing that a lot in every episode. Hence my conspiracy theory is that this cat could be the guardian angel of Sakurai and Uzaki! Or even trying to play cupid! However its love arrows don’t work so that is why it is hanging around to see how things play out. What the heck am I saying… On a side note, this cat’s face is also on the money notes! WTF?! I hope they’re not using counterfeit money in this anime! Imagine people coming to Japan and they see this ugly as f*ck cat face on your currency. WTF, dude!!!
Surprising to find Tomokazu Sugita joining this season’s cast as Sakurai’s dad. The rest of this season’s new joiners are Hideo Ishikawa as Fujio (Ukitake in Bleach), Seina Katou as Yanagi, Yuko Sanpei as Kiri (Sasha in Seikon No Qwaser), Miki Itou as Sakurai’s mom (Fujimura in Fate series) and even baby Nodoka is voiced by Reina Nagao. Easiest lines ever? Maybe. It’s her debut role after all. The opening theme is Ichigo Ichie Celebration by Kano with Uzaki. It’s a chaotic denpa song trying to get you into the craziness of Uzaki’s shenanigans. The ending theme, Happy Life by MKLNtic goes at a much calmer and easy going pace. Damn, I thought it was Uzaki singing but apparently it’s not.
Overall, this season is still fun but only if you can bear the slow pacing drama and romance. Still not bad but could have been better since it falls a bit short of expectations. Unless I have the wrong expectations of this series as a whole in the first place. Oh you know, thinking the trademark sugoi dekai would have more prominence than anything else in this series but then it falls flat. Pun not intended. The dreaded thought that the hanging out fun will die out once Sakurai graduates, but fret not. To solve this problem, all they need to do is get married! Then Uzaki (oh sorry, Mrs Sakurai by then) can hang out with him forever 24/7! Till death do us part!
